Welcome to the 56th Annual Meeting of the European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.

You can start exploring the ESPGHAN 2024 Virtual Platform from 15 May 2024, at 08:30 am CEST. The platform will remain open for 6 months after the Annual Meeting.

Personal credentials for the Virtual Platform and the Mobile App will be emailed to all delegates prior to the start of the Annual Meeting. To access the Virtual Platform, please click here.


A confirmation letter with a barcode will be sent to all non-Faculty participants a few days prior to the Annual Meeting.

Please bring your confirmation letter with you to the Annual Meeting to enable you to collect your registration materials from the prepaid registration stations located in the Registration Area of the venue.

If you do not receive a confirmation letter and barcode, do not worry, you will still be able to use the self-service machines by typing your full name into the machine. Hosts/Hostesses will be in the Registration Area to assist you.


If you are a Committee Member, Invited Speaker, Faculty Member or Invited Guest, you do not need a barcode letter.  Please meet us at the Faculty Registration Desk to receive your badge.


Upon registration, you will receive your name badge. You are kindly requested to wear your badge during all Annual Meeting sessions and events.


Click on “My Vouchers” from the mobile App home screen in order to access your e-vouchers. Present your e-voucher for scanning to the onsite attendants. E-vouchers will be used for Annual Meeting Bags, courses, workshops and additionally purchased events during registration.

Please note: You will need to undergo a security check upon entering the convention centre.  Prohibited items included: Blades, sharp scissors, glass, knives, cutters, sticks, alcoholic beverages, screwdrivers, hammers, air/gas cans, weapons even if reproductions, etc.  This is not a fully exhaustive list.

The official language of the Annual Meeting will be English. All abstract submissions and presentations should be in English.

ESPGHAN 2024 is scheduled as a hybrid event to take place in Milan from May 15-18, 2024. Participants who are unable to attend in person will have the option to register virtually. Live streaming will be available from May 16-18, 2024.

The abstracts for the 56th ESPGHAN Annual Meeting will be published in a special online edition of the Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition (JPGN).

All accepted abstracts for ESPGHAN 2024 are currently under embargo, which will be lifted on 15 May 2024, at 07:00 am CEST, at which point the abstracts will be publicly available for viewing via the interactive programme, the mobile app and the virtual platform.

Please note: Italian delegates will need to scan their badges at the station, located near the registration desk.

Following the Annual Meeting, participants will receive an email with information on how to obtain their CME-CPD credits.

The CME/CPD/ECM certificate will be available after completing the online evaluation and credit-claiming procedure. Kindly note that the ESPGHAN 2024 online evaluation will be active on the last day of the meeting. You will then be able to access it and claim your CME/CPD certificate.

The Nursing Room is located next to the cloakroom (Level 1). The room will be available on the 15 – 18 May during registration hours.

The Room of Silence is located in the Level 1 (in front of the e-Poster stations). The room will be available on the 15 – 18 May during registration hours.

Coffee and Lunch will be served in the Exhibition area or on Level 2, at the times indicated in the Scientific Programme.

The Welcome Reception will take place on Wednesday, 15 May from 18:30 – 20:00, in the Exhibition Area. The Opening Ceremony will take place on Thursday, 16 May from 08:30-09:30 in the Gold Room.

An official personalized letter of invitation will be provided to registered participants as part of the registration procedure. This invitation is prepared solely for the purpose of visa applications and is not a commitment on the part of the organisers to provide any financial support or confirmation of inclusion in the Scientific Programme.

Participants are advised to wear business casual for all Annual Meeting functions and programmes.

All event activities (including educational sessions, meal functions, exhibit hall, etc.) are exclusively reserved for registered attendees. Non-registered guests (including children, family members, colleagues, etc.) are not allowed in any of the event areas.

The Annual Meeting will officially run on Central European Summer Time (CEST).

The ESPGHAN Virtual Platform will be accessible from 15 May 2024, at 08:30 am CEST.  You may access the platform here.

You will be sent your log-in information in an email prior to the start of the Congress.

All parallel scientific sessions scheduled from Thursday, May 16, to Saturday, May 18, will be live streamed to the virtual platform. Recordings of these sessions will be available within 48 hours after each session and will be accessible on the virtual platform. Please refer to the timetable for specific session details.

All sessions will remain available for viewing for a 6-month period following the conclusion of the Annual Meeting. Your log-in details for the platform have been emailed to you prior to the start of the Annual Meeting.

Please be aware: that ticketed sessions, including courses on Wednesday, May 15, as well as the Endoscopy and the IBUS Bowel Ultrasound Learning Zones, will not be live streamed or recorded for the virtual platform.
Additionally, e-Poster sessions and Poster Walks will not be streamed or recorded.

All live-Streamed sessions to the Virtual Platform, also have a Q&A Component, through the Annual Meeting App called “Ask the Speaker.”
