Conect4Children: Clinical Trials

Conect4Children: Clinical Trials Workshop

  • Wednesday, 14 May 2025
  • 08:00-12:00

Clinical trials are one important way to gather the information needed to prevent and treat ill-health in babies, children, and young people. Paediatric trials of medicines need to be adapted to the participants as well as meeting standards for high quality evidence.

This workshop will give participants experience in scoping a clinical trial protocol in a small group. The workshop will be preceded by a carefully curated series of short talks introducing key elements of a paediatric trial of one or more medicine. The workshop will be followed by the opportunity to each small group to develop their protocol, leading up to a proposal for funding.

This workshop is a collaboration between ESPGHAN and Conet4children Stitching, the European network for paediatric clinical research.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the principles of developing a clinical trial protocol to evaluate one or more medicines
  2. Apply principles of clinical trial protocol development to a specific research question
